Jacob is a 20-year career startup entrepreneur and venture capital investor based in San Francisco. He is a Managing Director at Shasta Ventures, a 20-year old Silicon Valley VC firm with over $1.3B AUM. He is also a Venture Partner with Village Global and Canonical Crypto, an early stage blockchain/crypto investment firm focused on web3 + decentralized AI. He bought his first Bitcoin in 2013, and wish he bought more then.

Prior, he was a multi-time startup founder, and led the early Microsoft BizSpark program, a precursor to Microsoft Ventures M12. He is an active angel investor, startup advisor and sits on the Boards of Directors of Threekit, GoFormz and Deep Sentinel, and a Board Observer at Skilljar.

He is a co-founder of SomosVC, an early career enablement program for people of latina/o background to advance their career in venture capital. He is a Kauffman Fellow, Gates Millennium Scholar and holds a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University.
